Defensive Handgun II is a follow up to Defensive Handgun I. The intent of this course is to teach the student to reflexively employ their handgun and to effectively negotiate a critical incident regardless of the tactical environment, position, or injury. In this intermediate course, students will be required to perform in less-than-ideal shooting positions facing less-than-ideal threats. This class focuses almost exclusively on movement, avoiding the more static, fundamentals-focused shooting seen in DHI. This course is moderately physically demanding and the tempo is higher than some students may have experienced before; applying as much stress as possible to hone skills on the gun under closer-to-real-world circumstances.
Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age, be a U.S. Citizen, be of good character, and possess a clear criminal history. Unless included in the package cost*, participants are responsible for satisfying all course fees seven (7.0) days prior to the course’s scheduled date, in addition to any and all range fees; rental of protective equipment; targets; and ammunition. * Not all course packages include the cost of range fees, protective equipment, targets or ammunition.
